Whenever i drive my mx-6 on the freeway or race her the engine electrical system light comes on. I think its the alternator, but my belt slips too. Im thinking that the belt is slipping around the alternator causeing a loss of power which causes the light to come on. Let me know what you think.

Are you talking about the check engine light (the one inside the tach) or the charge light? The CEL is totally independent of the alternator. If it's the CEL, and it only does it at high RPMs, it's probably one of the two O2 sensors. Mine triggered the light at over 5000rpms or over 80 mph (4000rpms in 5th).

It's a $65 fix for each and your car will thank you if you replace it.
