ive searched probetalk an here and have gotten different answers.
im doing a atx to mts swap on my 95' 2.0
1. do i need a different ECU?
2. if i do does it have to be from the same year as the tranny?
3. does any of the harness have to be swapped?
4. mx6 and probe trannys are the same right?
5. the disty. doesnt need change does it? saw something on probetalk saying it did.
6. does the rad. need to be changed to a MTX one?

I don't know much about swapping ATX to MTX..esp on a 2.0
1)I would think you would need a new ecu (and also instrument cluster)
2)I don't think it has to be the same year, but I think you should stick with OBD1 vs OBD2 so if you have OBD1 get a 93-95 mtx obd1 ecu and if you have obd2 get a 96- 97 ecu
3) I would think you would need a MTX specific harness...
4) exactly the same no (different gear ratios I believe) Interchangable and swappable yes
5) I wouldn't see why the distributor would need to be changed at all////
6) - no idea
Again, this is based on my assumptions for readings I have absorbed, I just want to help steer you in the right direction.

I swapped in a 93 tranny, no need for a harness change or ecu change. I have the same radiator and disty.

2. Mine was a 95, I'd say stick to 94-95, but have no clue if there are any differences in the OBDII 96/97 transmissions, or the early 93.
3. No, just wiring to trick the transmission range sensor into allowing the car to start, get the reverse lights working and reconnecting the VSS.
4. Yes
5. No
6. No, just remove the ATX cooler lines

I have a 96 tranny in mine...the connections are the same all years.
