I installed indiglo gauges and decided to take the orange paint out of the needles, i know not a smart thing to do, now i can't really see them at night, is there a paint that i can use or anything, so i can see them better at night. I do have the background lights on, but still hard to see the needles.
Thanks guys

Thanks, I just came up with an idea, what if i'd use a highliter on the needles and install blacklight in the back of the dash, will this help the needles to be brighter?

the needles were orange before right? why is it orange? its because it was painted orange, but not the whole needles but just its back. so if u want to change color, the smart thing to do is repaint it.

paint them ... hahaha
he he paint them, yeah they were painted before...$tupid. at least try to make a suggestion or a solution, dumba$$.

and if your concern about not getting reading dont be cuz the main thing that will affect speed reading is the ride size/height of your tire, ie: if your new tire is an inch higher in diameter.

anyways this thread is so lame.
c-yah.

So wait, you've got indiglo gauge faces and now think that adding a blacklight in there somewhere will help you see the needles? Am I correct here? I don't really know the effect on the needle visibility, but I'd be willing to wager that your dash would look like ****.

blue gauges w/ white needles and blacklight

well if u knew that you would not have reinstalled it without putting new color, cuz u said "i cant really see at night".
therefore u actually reinstalled it without putting new color on the back of your needles.

did u think the transparent needles matches blue indiglo?
and now your going to put blacklight in your gauges while u already have indiglo. blacklight will only work on transluscent material, ie bond paper. indiglo were made to glow due to voltage being applied not by blacklight.

why dont u listen to rylinkus and myself, your dash will look like $hit, we wouldnt want you to ruin you only mod.

no wonder your asking stup!d questions, your a newbie.

theres a newbie section on mx6.com, post there so u dont get bash.

newbie post here:rolleyes:

i used this glow paint. I scraped off the orange, and put a thin layer of the blue paint. its kinda dull during the day, but at night the light behind the needle makes this paint almost glow. looks real good, matches the blue indiglo nice.

no the rpm is fine. the needle hangs low because i lost that little black needle that holds it up to 0 when the car is off. either way i have a tach in the corner to take car of that.

1 low mx6, nice gauges. I got the same one. hehe. I was just wondering were you able to get the clear cover off of the gauge cluster to put in your carbon fiber bezel or did you have to use your imagination to get them in there?

it was fun taking it off. very carefully. however i decided to keep it off, after i saw what it looked like with it off. much cleaner look and you can see the cf bezel better

So what did you use to scrap it off? Sand paper? I just want mine white or red, was gonna steel the needles from a 98-02 but wasn't sure they were the same size etc.

Hey guys, i was wonderin what is the RPM needle at when the car is warm, mine was at 500, and when i changed the gauges its at 750 now, where does the needle supposed to be when the car heats up?
Another question is about oil, when do u check the oil? when the car warms up? sometimes when i check the oil when the car its cold, it shows full and sometime half full, its weird.
u sure know your stuff about cars like u claim.
