hi Mazda peeps,
i have just signed up to the forums, I am actually an owner of a 16v Ford Probe, which i believe has alot in common with both the 626 and MX-6.
Hope its ok to join, and occasionally pick your brains if i get stuck......
I am a member of FPOCUK (Ford Probe Owners Club UK), and i think we have a couple of mx6.com members over there too. (hi to you and everyone ;) )

anyways thats about it........
cheers guys and gals

are you sure mate? - you've got an MX6 ?
as far as i know the 24v Probe shares its engine with the MX6, and the 16v Probe shares its engine with the 626.

the 2.5 liter 24v kl engine is found in the probe gt, mx6 LS , and the 626 LS

The 2.0 liter 16v engine is also found in the Base model probe, mx6 and 626

oh right. cheers.
thankyou to everyone who posted in response and welcomed me.
is everyone here in the US?
the reason i ask is that in the uk, we dont have a base probe.
we have the 24v 2.5 V6, and the 16v 2.0 models.
as far as i believe, the 24v is more or less the UK equivelant of the American GT model, and the 16v is more or less the SE. (minus the leather and probably a few other bits)
As far as i know the base has slightly different bumpers etc. The UK models (24v and 16v) are much the same in appearance except the side cladding, exhaust outlet, alloy design, and rear wheelarch trim) i think thats the only differences ;)
The bumpers etc are universal between both models in the UK.

And as i was told a week or 2 back, the engines in the UK are as i said.
mx6 - 24v probe
626 - 16v probe

im not wanting an argument - far from it !
just building on my knowledge

many thanks

Hi Daz, I see you found your way here then :)

Differences between the UK and US Probes and MX6's are fairly big, as you've already found out. For one, they had 2.0L MX6's where we only got the 2.5L. Check out the 1st Gen forum to see if anything there looks familiar...

Cheers,
Ken (IvanMX6)

I believe there are 3 models to the 626 in the US
ES = 24v
LX = 16v
DX = 16v

I'm not sure if the LX and DX were available with the 2.5 or not, but those are what they came with standard.
