Is the factory paint job sigle stage or base clear. I would like to wet sand it and buff if posible. My paint looks lick poo and i'm tiered of buying $$$ car polish and cut polish.I4MX6 said:What kind of paint did they use, single stage or base/clear? If its single stage, you can't wet sand it and polish it.
Well, when you have nail polish (or something like that) acting as paint; a cheap re-paint of stock color is satisfactory.I4MX6 said:Oh and for everyone looking for a cheap paint job....remember, you get what you pay for. Cheap isn't always better as you can get pealing and lines and runs. Anyone that knows what they are looking at can pick out a quality paint job or if it was just a quick respray.
Yes it is satisfactory, but give it a year max and the clear will start to peal back because it will be rubbing on the moldings in which it was taped off on. And the filler used to cover rust will start to rust through. Then guess what...your cheap paint job now looks just like it did before it went into paint! So that was a waste...MetalMatrix said:Well, when you have nail polish (or something like that) acting as paint; a cheap re-paint of stock color is satisfactory.
