Hi Guys,

I've had this noise progressively getting worse over the last year or so. It's a real metallic noise that I hear when I go over bumps and such - it goes "***** ***** *****"

My mechanic told me it's just the rear brake pad rattling around in the seat.

Does this sound right? Will replacing the pads fix it?

May not be the pads... Check to seeif you have the retaining clips on all of the calipers. There should be 2 retaining clips on each caliper and they are visible from the outside. If not, then your pads could be ratteling around there making noise. I would take off the wheel and check to see if any bolts or nuts are loose in there or if aomething is broken. Check your sway bar end links and make sure they are tight.

Good luck.

OK. The retaining clips are there but the're not retaining very well. When you move the wheel with your hand you can see the pads moving about.

Ordered new ones now- this'll fix it for sure.
