I decided to have my cam belt replaced by Mazda after 30K, only because the car was off the road for so long. Turns out the old belt was just fine but now the bearings on the pulley are very noisy. Mazda have replaced the bearings, or at least they say they have but it is still noisy.

As anyone come across this before and how did they cure the problem

TIA.

I had a bearing like noise in my last six and it turned out to be the tenshoner pully for power steering and water pump. the bearing had gone and it was rubbing on its own support.

Just another thing to check.
