Hello,

if anyone could hint me, ive read all about VRIS and still cant figure whether mine's working properly...
its fitted with an MX6 KLDE.
stock intake manifold.
air flow sensor and ECU is from Xedos 9..
recently ive got it fitted with KLZE curved neck manifold with widened intake pipe and of course CAI (filter is under the right light), what my question is whether VRIS is now working properly or not? ive read about KLZE manifold having different resonant frequencies then KLDE manifold...
i hope i didnt screw up my performance with the manifold?
i also got fitted it with a new exhaust manifold and downpipe, waiting for the rest of exhaust to be made (already have new exhaust mufflers at home, middle and back, both direct)

of course it does run better now, but exhaust manifold and CAI solely could be responsible for that, im asking whether VRIS is working okay?

easiest way is wire up the vris power wire to a little LED in your dash. one of the most simple things you can do. and anytime you vris kicks in, it will light up the LED. all you need to do is wire it to the + feed that goes to the VRIS's.

sorry i really cant find the edit button on this forum...
so if i continue, does it really matter whether i swapped the ECU when i swapped the manifold or not?
im completely confused and dont feel whether my car has gained anything or not, also, i didnt do dyno before :( and if i dyno it wont tell me anything.

hello.. wish there was an edit button. :)

anyway, i found out whats the thing that i got filled down to a bigger fi called - throttle body.. and a custom made butterfly valve.
i really feel im losing torque in the lower end, the car used to have a pull above 4250rpm.. did i lose torque or am i hallucinating?
ive read that ZE Manifold has a different freq of the VRIS ports, but the ECU from KLDE still opens them as they were KLDE making the vris a tad inefficient..
ive searched all over the net, and found out that the curved neck manifold on a DE engine is a common upgrade - but the FAQ about VRIS on this site got me extremely confused.

if anyone could shed more light on to the subject - please do.
