My engine lunges from a dead stop and then drops back to normal. I know this is not normal, it cant be the tranny because I just had it rebuilt I was thinking there has to be an ajustment I can make somewhere that can make the engine flow in a normal transition from stop and through the gears.

Sounds like a crack in the intake hose

between the air cleaner/Mass Air Flow Sensor and the Intake Manifold. Very common on MX-6's. It costs abount $50 for the replacement hose at the dealer or about $0.37 worth of duct tape for a cheap fix.

Could be that intake hose.... don't use the duct tape though.... under any boost (he has a GT) it will NOT hold.

Intake hose checks out ok...I just replaced the hose that goes from the intake to the manifold and also replaced the air filter.
