I am switching up the exhaust systems from the turbo and the non turbo, until now the turbo had a non turbo stock catback and the dx had a pacesetter. I took the old stuff off the turbo one first because I wanted to have atleast one car that would run (because of backpressure). The sun went down so I havnt finished the work yet. I had to drive somewhere with my bro to pick up his car and there are a few interesting things going on with no catback.

I still have the cat on there but since there is nothing after it I guess I am getting the maximum performance that you can get from a a catback system (without actually having it). The car is loud as hell and seems to be boosting close to 9 or 10 psi. I have a stock turbo and have not changed boost at all.

Is this normal?

so the stock gauge is not accurate?

it doesnt seem to spike to 9 it holds 9 maybe even 10, on the stock gauge it goes all the way to the edge of the red away from the 12.
