Whats the recomended oil change interval ? so far its been done every 6000, and is coming up for that again, and the tappets are getting noisy
Its so easy to clock up the miles in this car !

Seem to find a lot of differing opinions some sources say 6000 miles others as the car gets older (100,000 miles now) you should change it at every 3000.

Do you use a mazda engine flush every time, or every other ?

Is there a torque setting for the sump plug ?

Really it's up to you when you want to change the oil, i wouldn't recommend anything more than 5,000 miles, and no do not use a flush everytime, flushing the car every time you change oil will prob do more damage to the car than good.

If you haven't yet changed the oil yourself, since you have bought the car, then you could do a flush this time, and use either 0/40 or 5/40 that i use to use, and a MAZDA oil filter, with new sump plug washer.

Torque i haven't a clue just common sense, tighten but not over tighten.

Early cars are 6000 intervals, later cars are 9000.. saying that, 3000 will keep your engine sweet.

Torque for sump plug is 21 - 30 ft/lbs

and only ever use a genuine Mazda filter.
