Just got a call from the service department. I have my car in to get a new clutch, and the 192,000Km tune up, and it turns out that I also need;
-the input seal on the tranny replace(that is why the clutch was slipping)
-Water pump(I expected that)
-leaking thermostat
-Strut boots
-rear sway bar ends?
-tie rods?

crap, I think I am going to be sick...

The complete list... :(
Transmission seal(cause the clutch trouble)
clutch
water pump
strut boots(x3)
Timing belt tensioner
leaking thermostat
inner tie rods
cv boots(x2)
Sway bar links.

this is what I need done. Any one have any comments about things I should do?

I have decided to get the first 3 done, at the very least, on top of the 192,000 Km tune up.
:(

the timing belt, that would be the entire thing, would it not, u will want to do that, if i am thinking right, u dont want your engine to blow up because your belt breaks

Apparently it is just the timing belt tensioners, and they could be one of a couple things that cause engine knock, other that the HLAs and the friction gear.

Are the cam springs and friction gear the same thing?

Wrong

Our motor is a non-interference motor, which means if the timing belt does break or whatever, the motor is still runnable with just a new timing belt. Hope that helps!
