Mx6 headlights with fog lights have one #67 parking/running light bulb on the outside of the headlight. 626's have two #67 bulbs one on each side of the headlight.

The number 67 8watt light bulb :

13866

Back in the late 90's one of our friends would get purple lensed bulbs that would fit in the headlights and sockets. They gave off a clear /blue hue light but where not #67 bulbs, they where 15watt bulbs and where of poor construction they would explode and fill the headligh with thin glass.
Summer or winter, they could handle a 12 hour drive or explode after 15minutes of driving. Sufficient to say I stopped running them.

In the 24 years I have been driving 626mx6's i have tried every kind of #67 bulb i found and they all give off yellow light.

Does anyone know of a bulb that fits 626/mx6 headlights, doesn't explode and has a clear or white or blueish light instead of yellow?

I believe our only option is to go with LED if you can find them. I've seen them listed as #5007 bulbs as well. Not sure if there's a difference.

I have looked at #67 LED equivalent bulbs, but they seem to be listed as the replacement for several bulbs and I can't confirm they will fit in the headlights. A few look like they might fit but they are pretty expensive and so far my luck with LED's on F2T has been pretty bad, either the F2's electrical current spikes to high, all the LEDs where poorly constructed or the AWR motor mounts vibrate them to failure.

Bulb #5007 is a huge help, not a whole lot comes up for Bulb #67 when searching but bulb # 5007 did.
Which allowed me to find a site that list all bulb info including #67 variety's I couldn't find through google searches.

A list of similar sized bulbs as a starting point to finding different shades of light for anyone who cares.
Left out anything above 14V dc and below 12V dc. All info comes from Bulbtown

#67 Miniature Bulb Ba15S Base - 13.5 Volt .59 Amp 7.965 Watt G-6 Single Contact (SC) Bayonet (BA15S) Base, C-2R Filament Design, 4.0 MSCP. 1.44" (36.58mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.). 5,000 Average Rated Hours.

So the Base is Bayonet style, 15 MM diameter, single contact = Ba15S
It operates at 13.5Volt DC.
Draws .59 Amps.
Is 8 Watts.
Is 1.44" long.
And the bulb is 0.75" wide.

Mean Spherical Candle Power 4.0 ---> 1 MSCP = 12.57 Lumens.
(50.28 Lumens).
Light center length 0.75" (Not relevant to fitment or replacements)

--------------
Bulb 5007 is Ba15S base
Operates at 12 Volts DC.
Draws .42 Amps.
is 5 watts.
is 1.48" long.
and 0.75" wide.

Rated hours 200, LL 400

2 reasons not to run these are they seem to have a short life span (but I'm using one sites info so could have 1500 or 5000 hours available), they are meant to run on 12V (regulated power source), The #67 bulb seems to run of the charge systems power output. Not sure if the mx6/626 head lights get 12V or whatever the alternator is making.

The following bulbs are listed in the order they appear on the site Price low to high.

#9421777 GM (General Motors) Replacement Bulb - 13.5 Volt .69 Amp 9.3 Watt G6 Single Contact Bayonet (Ba15S) Base, 4.0 MSCP C-6 Filament Design. 5,000 Average Rated Hours. 1.44" (36.56mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.). 0.81" (20.6mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L).

The wiring and connectors can handle .69 Amps, they will generate more heat.

441067-1 #67 Marine Bulb Ba15S Base - 13.5 Volt .59 Amp 7.965 Watt G-6 Single Contact (SC) Bayonet (BA15S) Base, C-6 Filament Design, 4.0 MSCP. 1.44" (36.58) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.), 0.81" (20.56mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.). 5,000 Average Rated Hours

Are these yellow hue like the normal #67?

#98 Miniature Bulb Ba15S Base - 13.0 Volt 0.62 Amp 8.06 Watt G6 Single Contact Bayonet (Ba15S) Base, 6.0 MSCP C-6 Filament Design. 1.44" (36.58mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.). 800 Average Rated Hours.

Not the greatest hour rating and the lower voltage rating could shorten that further.

#89 Miniature Bulb Ba15S Base - 13.0 Volt .58 Amp 7.54 Watt G6 Single Contact Bayonet (Ba15S) Base, 6.0 MSCP C-6 Filament Design. 750 Average Rated Hours. 1.44" (36.58mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.).

Lower watt #98's low hours.

Not as bright and still low hours.

The same as the #9421777 GM but probably much easier to find.

#97A Amber Miniature Bulb Ba15S Base - 13.5 Volt 0.69 Amp 9.32 Watt Painted Amber G6 Single Contact Bayonet (Ba15S) Base, C-6 Filament Design. 1.44" (36.58mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.), 0.75" (19.05mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.). 5,000 Average Rated Hours.

Series Filaments, Rated 5,000 Hour at 14 Volts.

Identical to the #67 bulb with different filament. #1155 this is the bulb I will search for in a clear white or arctic white light shade.

#97-I MINIATURE BULB NICKEL BA15S BASE - 13.5 Volt .58 Amp 7.83 Watt G6 Nickel Single Contact Bayonet (Ba15S) Base, 6.0 MSCP C-6 Filament Design. 1.44" Maximum Overall Length. 5000 Average Rated Hours. 1.44" (36.56mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.75" (19mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.). 0.81" (20.6mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L).

Lower amp, lower watt than the other #97's and 6.0 MSCP I wonder what shade they are.

They sell colored #67 bulbs :

They are longer that #67 but would probably fit. No amperage listed, halogen bulbs usually give off more heat than regular bulbs. Not as bright as #67.
JC12V10W 100 Lumens
JC12V20W 250 Lumens

LED 3014-57 LED 3 Watt Dimmable 12-24Volt Ba15S Base - 3 Watt LED 12-24 Volt Ba15S Base, 3000 Kelvin Color Temperature. 30,000 Average Rated Hours and 500 Lumens. 1.67" (42.5mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.), 0.59" (15mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.). This Item is Dimmable and rated Waterproof! 6.05$

Waterproof just like the push and twist spring base socket all these bulbs sit in, no wait that's not right. What it the enclosure the socket connects to is waterproof and the socket is sealed? then the bulb doesn't need to be waterproof...

Bulb #1155 is the best match to replace #67 with. Does it give off a light color/temp/shade/hue that is correct for my build?
Because of the low price I will buy 8 #67NB and 8 #67NP and try them (shipping costs more than the bulbs), I can tell or find if they give off tinted light or will just look blue and purple. Here blue and red lights are reserved for emergency vehicle and can not be used on regular motor vehicles.

I will buy 24bulbs (6 sets of 4) for less than the cost of 2 LED bulbs.

Thank you MXican-6.
