I've heard from a few friends of mine the MX-6 doesn't respond well to modifications for performance boosting.

I'd like to know if this is true and what is most effective in increasing horsepower on the 4 cyl (2.0) version of the car, even if only slight.

ur friends are right. the best mod, other than FI is a jspec intake camshaft. it'll boost u up around 10whp or so thats the only mod u'll get that will do near that much hp. the list of mods to do next would be cold air intake, then exhaust, then header, then bored throtle body, port and polish intake manifold, P&P head, then if u still want more power stroke it. if thats still not enough power, put in lower compression pistons and go FI. theres a write up on 2.0 performance in the second gens section READ IT!!! its very informative and helped me decide to leave my i4 mostly stock. lol
