phone spacers replace vcg?

i searched through the site and i found no definite answer....

i am thinking about getting pheno spacers.......just one question in advance, does it take the place of the vcg's so when i put the pheno on i don't have to use the vcg's?

also, what kind of sealant should i use and how much of it?

thanx in advance.......

p.s. i plan on putting them on by myself, please warn me about anything i should be careful about..... :)

eleven,
the pheno spacers don't replace the vcg's they replace the intake manifold gaskets. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure on this one.:)

You're correct, the phenolic spacers replace the manifold gaskets. The valve cover gaskets use silicon sealant where the factory had it, which is wherever the curved spots are to clear the camshafts (it's easier to see than tell).

Get basically whatever the site recommends for silicone sealant... because they really all arent created equal... if you cant get an answer from them, consult a local speed shop and they usually have a favourite sealant they use for such applications... for a reason, so go with that......

Just my thoughts.....
