There is a minor drawback in that you will need to use higher octane fuel after doing the mod but when all is said and done you should be using high octane fuel in any car you care about anyway.
It can take a little bit of fiddling to get the timing to stick but I was able to get a stable 14' within about 40 minutes.
Simple enough process, jumper line between GROUND and 10 on the diagnostic port, a timing gun and a bit of patience.
