could a pressure Relif Valve be used as a boost controler
it is a valve that works i belive similar to the dawns controler
it has an adjustment it holds all air until the set presure is reach and then it opens and lets the air pass through
would this work ??
this appares to work the same as the dawns controler ?
and i can pick one up for $30 AUS and can be adjusted from .3 bar to 2 bar

what size thread is needed for the inlet and out let ??

Yes you can build a set up like that. Here's a site that shows you how:

Part 1

Part 2

This is a great article that everyone should read. I think this is the exact setup I'm gonna use once I finally get my car pieced together well enough to up the boost. They tell you every part number and give web sites and addresses to buy the stuff from. Check it out people, becuase this set up allows you to not only adjust the boost pressure, but also how fast the turbo spools.

autospeed.com IS FULL of awesome ideas...poke around over there.

Could someone explain to me how the pressure regulator works in this setup? I dont understand why one would be needed if the pressure relief valve is used. Wouldnt it be bad to put a ceiling on the pressure the wastgate sees? If the turbo is boosting at 20psi and the regulator is set to 10, than wouldnt that make the wastegate only relieve 10psi?

I guess I just dont understand :)
