questions

well i bought my mx6 from some idiot who did'nt know what he had, he says its a piece of shit and wont boost and shutters and wont move, well the reason it was shuttering is cause his intercooler was shot and he had the bpv blowing into the atmo, fixed it and now it hits 7.2 reg and spike 9 at 3k, not to the trans this kid says it moved before he changed the clutch, he added it took him 3 months to change it ( never changed a clutch before ) is it possible he put the clutch and t.o. bearing in backwards cause it will still pull in every gear and slightly move in reverse but just wont move, i checked the axels and there both fully intact, i also pulled the hubnuts to check the wheel bearings which are also still fine, any input would be appreciated

What exactly is the problem? I'm a littel confused because because you said you fixed the boosting problem and checked the axles so what exatcly is it the car does or won't do?

im willing to bet that he never bled the clutch.... there is a small bleeder screw on the slave cylinder. have someone give you a hand, and bleed it like you bleed brakes...

ill bet that solves your problem

i just swapped out my master and slave cylinder. it felt squishy for two days...now it's fine.

move your slave cylinder boot off of it's seal and see if fluid comes out. it's an easy swap out, takes 15 minutes tops in rain (heheh). get a hand vacuum bleeder (less chance of getting air sucked back into the line).

well see the pressure in the clutch pedal itself is fine, what the problem is, i step on the clutch, i put it in gear ( no problems at all so far ) im easing off the clutch and the car will pull but not move

so in essence, the clutch master and slave cylinders are fine im getting great pressure its just the car itself wont move in any gear but reverse and even in reverse i have to dump the clutch to get it to move even the slightest bit, i know the clutch is new cause he had the exedy box sittin in the back seat

Sounds like a maladjusted clutch.

Did you not adjust it?

well it sounds to me like your going to have to bite the bullet and drop the tranny. Check to make sure the previos ABUSER installed it correctly and if so.... your tranny may be... well... dead

so... get crack-a-lackin and drop that sumbitch out

the e-brake is not on, i figured i had trans problems, then i also had a second theory of this kid was a complete bumbling idiot... he says it took him 3 months to change the clutch because he did'nt know what he was doing, i asked how tight he torqued the pressure plate bolts and he stated " as hard as i could with a ratch " is it a possibility that he put the clutch in backwards? or the throw-out bearing, because i know in a escort gt " mazda 1.8 dohc 16v BP09 " it is possible to put a throw out bearing in backwards

if he put the clutch disc in backwards you would hear all kinds of grinding

your gonna have to just bite the bullet and pull the tranny out... besides... it has to come out to get fixed if its a gearbox problem.... right?

Did you not adjust it? It's MUCH easier than pulling the transaxle.

That does sound like a trans. problem. Does the speedo move at all in gear?

no one knows because we dont know what the previous owner did... if you get the tranny out and the clutch is fine, then you need a tranny, if the clutch is bad.. then well... i think you get it
