I am looking to get a radar detector. I don't know much about them so I need your help. I wan't one that gives very good protection and wont go off all the time when I go around town. It doesn't need to tell me the cop's name and what he had for lunch or any of the other features you never use. Seeing as how I listen to my music to loud to hear anything else, I need one that has easy to distinguish, and bright pig alerts.
Anyone here have one that they like. Money isn't really an issue as much as protection is. Any suggestions?

Valentine one...it is $399.00 (making it quite pricey).
If my memory serves me correctly, the designer of this unit designed the original cincinnati microwave Escort radar detector (series including the orginal passport).

They seem to be well respected, even buying second hand.
Just checked ebay, and the ones available there now,
are going for 200-355!
