Search Protege caliper, 626 caliper, and Mazda 6 caliper upgrades.

I wrote the 626 V6 brake upgrade so PM me with any questions after you read up.
im been meaning 2 put this out there 4 a while and this thread just reminded me.... if u order the loaded pair of calipers from autozone ( like $200) , when the pads wear out u get new calipers :)
Don't bother looking into the Protege 5 swap because no one in Ottawa has the left rear caliper and hasn't for a while.
hey LS six . read your thread .... looks interesting... to bad i already bought the rear pads and rotors... i think i will skip on this for now.. and when the fronts need to be replaced take a look at it again.. but thanks for the tip on that thread .. looks like somethingn i will be def interested in for the future... ATM im looking to fix these goddam brakes taht r making ridiculous sounds from build up... ( looked tat hem and i can take em off and stuff but if i try to put new pads in i wont be able to open em up to get em on .. kind of a bummer ... but i will have to deal with the noice until i get new calipers ( which i rly dont wanna spend moen yon) hopefully someone has somthin .. who knows..
i rly just dont wanna spend $ bills on it ...

o speaking of... autozone as in the store right ... like self branded parts cuz thats price seems descently reasoinable although id much rather not spend taht much haha..

6 builder _adn do u have the autozone part nujmber ?
If you brakes are making noise, it might just be that you need new pads. Start by changing those and while you're there, remove your calipers and clean everything up and grease it up too. Should be back to normal or better than when you got the car. If that still don't work, then go for an upgrade. Good luck.
What do you mean when you say "i can take em off and stuff but if i try to put new pads in i wont be able to open em up to get em on"

You know there's a screw on the caliper that has to be backed out in order to compress the piston? It's not like the front calipers which can be compressed by just pushing.
Don't bother looking into the Protege 5 swap because no one in Ottawa has the left rear caliper and hasn't for a while.
I have Protege5 rear calipers, got them done at Initial Tuning on enterprise just down the street from the meet

And Dan, should've asked us about this at the meet! But then again, you had your hands full defending your 4x4 suspension, eh ;)
haha ...
umm.. ya paul the screw is rusted . the calipers are old and mangled so i beleive its time to get new one.

i would just replace pads nd rotors. BUT since i cant compress the caliper i cant get the new pads in .

but o well i thikn its better in the long run if i put new calipers while i have cash lol..

AND YES Barun.. i am gunna pick up a set of tokico blues with eiback springs .. so i wont be running 4x4 anymore.
dan_seguin90 i dont have apart number but i can prob get one 2mrrw if i remember, one of my best friends works there and is the one who told me about it.... btw this option seems to be the "end all" solution 2 our rear caliper probs
that would be great 6 builder.
and btw thats a set f twO???
You don't actually need the adjustment screw to pull the piston back into the caliper. If it's stuck and won't spin, get a pair of vise grips/plumbers wrench/good pliars and grab the outside ring of the piston, and manually screw it back into the caliper. This is assuming you can slide the caliper off the rotors.
ist fine guys ... looks like i found a good deal for myself on so calipers and new springs which are the two things in life i need right now.. haha
 good luck with the work.
