I have a '93 MX6 LS and my rear defogger and heated mirrors are not working. When I press the rear defog switch, the light indicator on the dash comes on but neither things work. I checked the fuse under the hood and it's fine. Has anyone experienced this problem? Do I have a faulty rear fog switch? How could I test the switch? :(

ive never heard of mx6's with heated mirrors, u should be able to check to see if there is a current going through the wires connected to the rear window defroster.

if theirs not, try bypassing the switch and see if u get a current, if u still dont, i would just replace the wiring.

if there is a current then uve probally got a corroded connection that u might be able to fix but if its not fixable then replace the rear defroster.

Thanks 4 the suggestion. The LS model MX6 comes std /w heated side mirrors. I double checked my original '93 MX6 sales brochure to show I'm not crazy.

I read something about checking the rear defroster relay. Great, now where is this relay. Is it in the fuse block under the hood? The owner's manual only has descriptions of the fuses.

I have a '94 LS with heated side view mirrors. Just got my car polished ..and the guy that cleaned the rear window hit the top of 2 contacts on the passenger side of the glass.. dislodging the top contact that controls the 'heated' side view mirrors. Now Im trying to get them to admit to there 'damage'. They said it was like that when I brought in my car. NFW. This had happened to me b/4.. and I know everything was working when I brought in my car...'coz I had to use the defogger in the AM to clear the frost.
So check the contacts at the glass to see if 1 or more ae not connected to the glass.
