Its really not that hard to do without a specialized tool, just a long wrench will work. Access from the top and move the steering wheel to get the bolts into good positions.

ya you definately don't need the specialized tool, i can see how easy it would make the job a lot easier! i used a pipe wrench from the bottom no problems. ( i was doing my c/v joint as well, so it was out of the way:p )

yeah when i did mine i had the specialty tool and it definately made the job easier. don't forget to get an alignment after you're done
