Hey guys, gonna start my build thread of the project I've decided to tackle but I'll be honest I'm better with wrenches then computers and wonder what's my best options for postings pictures? All my picture are currently on my ipad and if I need to transfer them to a computer I will.any advice on how to go about that would be awesome as I'd like to share this project with you all. The chassis is mx6 members stealths old chassis with jlcustomizings right hand drive swap. Right now I'm getting all the pedals and firewall items mounted and so I can get the steering column and rack so I can start the wiring process. Also if there is any members from across the pond that have or can get some pictures of the mounts for the gas pedal for a right hand drive car that would be awesome. Thank you!

Lots of wiring, aftermarket chassis kit from jegs( really made by dillblox) seems nice and easily modified for more circuits and relays. Ms3x with fuse/relay block and full engine harness from diy auto tune. Still need a few more relays, main power cables and grounds, and breaker for battery

Stock klze, have headers and what not. Have full turbo kit that I could bolt on with a hx35 turbo but main thing is trying to get it running, so trying to keep things stupid simple for now and build a klg4 motor in the future

Been working a lot to so that ha sent helped with getting time to work on it. But hopefully it'll be driveable by next spring for proving grounds at BIR

Well after a long search finally found some headlights! Thank you again ZE Powered Mx-6! It was a brutal drive getting out Chicago in that blizzard lol. So got some things to look at on the m edition. Wanna try and get it running. The red one runs great but I bought that last year for the wiring harnesses for the right hand drive build. But now with the two of them I may make a daily of one of them, and try save some miles on the Tahoe. But ones gonna start to get stripped down in the next few weeks for the harnesses.

well I got the m edition to run, turned out to be the distributor after all. She’s still running rough, but getting her going at all was good news! Nows the hard part of part of deciding which one gets stripped down for the harness. They’re both 1996’s , the m edition has all the goodies but running rough atm, and the red one is completely stock with a better over all body. No matter what I’m taking the lights off the m edition and I already have dash ripped apart from looking for wires. I’m leaning towards the m edition as the parts car and the red one as daily beater to save miles in my tahoe.

now for the firewall. Buddy should be coming over this after noon, and we’re gonna finish up making the prints I need to get my parts made to weld in. I have some made already, one I need to remake as it doesn’t completely fill in it’s gaps. For the steering rack I’ll also need to make new mounts as Mazda decided to offset the racks from the lhd and rhd mounts. Brake and clutch pedals seem to be right where they need to be but it looks like I’ll need to modify the gas pedal because the offsets are different or try and find a rhd gas pedal assembly from across the pond which is not looking promising.

Status report, buddy came over. We got a game plan for the firewall. Unfortunately it’s coming down to making piece for piece. Once the brake booster and clutch mount are for sure, those get welded and the steering rack from there. Gas pedal assembly can wait..... but seems like that will be just as difficult ha.... more to come

If you get stuck for parts we have plenty of RHD MX6's in Australia so search ebay Australia for RHD specific parts!

Im actually talking with a guy down there atm who has a parts car in his yard. Just waiting for a response of when he has the parts ready to ship. He said he has everything I’m looking for which is good so we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks with that. Currently just been working on the wiring harnesses got the dash harness done just needs grounds. Interior chassis harness is next.
also got the m edition pretty much stripped down minus the motor and tranny and engine harness. Decide on that on for the donor based on the chassis and I couldn’t get the motor to quite down after an oil change and what not. So instead of hurting that motor I’ll use it in the future and use the klze I have in the garage to get the car running. Hopefully this weekend I get the car moved to a buddy’s garage that has more room and cement to work on ha

Can’t wait to see some of the parts from my old M-Edition lives on in your new RHD project :)

The snow/cold kinda throw us off that day, I forgot to give you all the spare parts in my garage lol.

Wow, When I saw your thread title I was like oh man just another pipe dream RHD conversion, but you look like you will actually pull it off. Wow.

Good luck with your build, I think it might be a little cool and different to have a RHD car but in the end I can see it being bothersome and would get old fast.

I hope you enjoy it. I think the fact that you have put so much work into your car will make you appreciate it so much more.

Lol no it’s not a pipe dream, but it is a slow process with work, life, etc ha. Been holding on and trying to collect parts for a long time. Still waiting for some info from the guy in Australia for my package. He unfortunately wasn’t able to get the windshield wiper parts I’m looking for but he got all my pedals and espec mirrors so I can see correctly, would love the power fold mirrors but those are harder to find then the headlights ha. So hopefully that gets shipped out in the next few weeks. Should have my firewall plate for the brake pedal done this week it took a few try’s in the cnc to get the profile right but should be good now. Steering rack mounts are next. Pics soon to come
