has anybody had to change the two rocker box gaskets yet.
i have noticed oil in some of the plug hole tops when doing a service at the weekend , the oil is not in the chambers only in the ht lead holes so i put it down to gaskets .
any help with prices or advise on diy would be gratefully received

Hi

Pricewise I connot give you an idea since I stay in SA, but to replace them is straight forward the front on is relatively easy, but the back one as u would have noticed u need to remove the intake manufilt  little bit of an issue - not always space for ur hands, but I changed both of mine awhile ago and it took me about 2 to 3 hours - you dont need to change the intake gaskets since they are of the steel tipe, but if you think of all the work involved you might as well do them as well while ur busy.

Enjoy

Karl,

My rocker cover gaskit was leaking ioto the spark plug wells a while ago. After phoning all the factors companies with no luck (and Mazda wanted a silly price) i just took the rocker cover off and cleaned up both surfaces and replaced with some silicone sealant. Had no probs with in for the last 10,000 miles...

Is it both banks? Because I've heard the back is a bit of a pig to do...
