hi guys. i've been thinkin' for some time in trying to get a 626 GT as a daily driver ever since i saw one in the junkyard.

other than that, i hope to learn more about the mazda 626, just as i did with my RX-7.

thanks. :D

just to share what my current car is right now,
here's a pic of my FC at this year's Sevenstock XI at the mazda headquarters in Irvine, CA.

Very nice FC. :) Welcome to the site.
I'll comment on the 88-92 626 GT..

Excellent power, all the great torque of the F2T, but 4 doors of invisible to Police goodness. :)

Here is a good idea of what mileage you can expect:
Scalded Weasel (Mazda 626) | Fuelly

Best I've gotten is 33 on all highway driving, worst has been about 22 mpg, average is around 24-27 mpg. (it seems I missed a fill up, so there is a spurious 52 mpg record on there.. I'll fix that soon).

With the GD cars, if you really want to get better gas mileage, it seems a wideband + MegaSquirt is the next best thing after not abusing the gas pedal. :)

that's some awesome gas mileage. haha

or i guess anything's better than turbo rotary gas mileage.
i average about ~15mpg city / and ~20mpg highway.
all i know is that if get at least 240 miles on the tank of gas,
i'm getting the average rotary gas mileage. xP sucks.

when i do get my hands on one,
i'll prolly leave it stock for the mean time.
gotta take advantage of the gas prices while their down. lol

btw, what octane does the GT's use?
please not 91... *crosses fingers*
try fillin' up an 18 gallon tank of gas with 91.

perhaps, maybe i should find some locals around my area...
oh yea, my FC averages about 15 mpg city / ~20 mpg

just about any car at this moment would get better gas mileage. d'oh
