Afetr looking all weekend for Redline fluid for my tranny and coming up with NOTHING ( I couldnt find anyplace that carried it?)
I did some reading on Royal Purple, it is compatible with cars requiring ATX fluid, MTX GL4 or GL 5 fluid, it is a synthetic fluid and DOESN'T contain any of the agents that people say "damages brass synchros"...the standard MX6 uses 3.9 quarts and you will need to buy 4... I found it at Napa for $7.99 a quart, the color is ACTUALLY PURPLE and I noticed the difference RIGHT AWAY, shifting is alot easier (something about the fluid and pressure?) and the dreaded 1st and 2nd shifts are WAY easier, any grinding that I may have had is completely gone, abnd I say say good enough things about synthetic gear oil.....

it is NOT a cure all however....if your transmiision is in good shape but appears to have some kinks, I'd suggest changing your shifter bushings AS WELL as flushing and installing some synthetic gear oil....it might not make you car any faster, but it'll be happier getting there

This is something I absolutely must do. I have such a rediculously hard time getting into 2nd gear (especially at high rpms, it's near impossible). My motor mounts and shifter bushings are shot to hell, as well as the pressure plate on my clutch which dosent seem to be allowing the clutch to release all the way. So those have to be fixed first, but then the royal purple's going in. It'll be so nice to have smooth, quick shifts again!

I can almost gaurantee that it will change when you do these "mods" ...ok ok..overlooked OE products (shifter bushings)

I suggest doing it ASAP...if your tranny is still in good shape, you don't want to ruin whatever life it still might have by procrastinating a little longer, spend $100, it just might save you $1200-?

I was reading a SCC mag and they had some super thick tranny fluid in there sentra that was like pepmobismal and since I'm still running the weak lx tranny I think having some good stuff in it might help a little. ANy ideas on what extacly to use?

So I guess all you guys with good shifter bushings and motor mounts, and use this royal purple stuff have no problem banging off lightning quick 1-2 shifts? I cant imagine what that must be like!
