Hi all, I had a post the other day about having the tyres changed screwed the brakes, well I was wrong. The rear left brake is screwed but not because of the tyres. The hand brake is not releasing the calliper and it gets hot rather quick, I had smoke pouring from the back wheel the other day before I realised. Anyway the place that the hand-brake cable goes into the calliper can be pushed on to release the brake but its a pain in the ass!!!.

This is an all-too-common problem with 93-94 MX-6 and PGTs. You can either rebuild (or have the Mazda dealer do it) the caliper, replacing the parking brake seals etc (what I did with one of mine about 2 years ago...so far so good...) or you can try to locate some 1995 or later calipers which had a design fix to help prevent corrosion setting in in the mechanism, which is what causes the sticking.
