£7 MILLION MOTOR FOR SPORTSCAR SHOW
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, in 2001, turned down an offer of £7 million for the only XJ13 in existence from an anonymous Japanese buyer.
This and other rare cars are destined for the Belfast Sportscar show, 30th Jan - 1st Feb 2004 at the Kings Hall & Showground in Belfast. To date the collection on display will include:
XJ13, C-Type, D-Type, SS100, XKSS, XK180 concept, XJ220 concept, Eddie Irvine's F1 car, 1988 Silk Cut Le Mans winner, Daimler Corsica convertible, R Coupe concept, if available, TWR XJR 15 tbc
" Hopefully a couple more will be added before the Show" said Nick Orton, Managing Director, adding "I do hope that classic and Sportscar fans will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to come see this collection, and other cars, it is a fantastic treat for any car enthusiast".
The Show also includes two action packed days of sprint rallying through the Showground and past the grandstand. The planned format is forty 2WD cars competing on Saturday for 5 places to go against the WRC and GPA cars on the Sunday. "Both days are expected to be a sell-out, based on the last Show" said the organisers.
The Event will also include today's sports & super cars, such as Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin and Bentley courtesy of Charles Hurst Specialist Cars, along with sports saloons, super minis and hot hatches. Visitors will also be able to pick up some great deals amongst the many trade and auto jumble stands.
The organisers have advised that as the Sunday of the last Sportscar Show was jammed, people are advised to either book in advance via a ticket hotline 0870 730 0049 or see www.sportscarshow.co.uk for more info.
The Show will be open from 12 - 10pm on Friday to give people a chance to look around the cars in relative comfort. Saturday and Sunday is 10am till 6pm. For info on participating call 0870 333 1277.
