... When it works on the first try :)

Nissan 555cc Injector install and I also re-did my fuel lines so I can fit the hood on. I need to get a plug for the AFPR for now, and Ill run a 90 with a line later and relocate the gauge.

2 things I worry about.

1) Connectors over the fuel lines exposed. (Im gonna tape em up after I get everything squared away)
2) AFPR sitting so close to the disty.

I mean braided line and stuff should never leak, maybe a fitting, but if fuel were ever to hit one of those connections or somehow find its way to a plug wire then I would certainly have an engine fire.

Anways heres a few select pics, I got a writeup to go along with this :)

One other thing I will say, that is one fucking tight fit to get those installed with the manifold on the engine. I had to remove my intercooler pipe, slide them in "mated" and put the standoffs in afterwards which was a total bitch. I drop one down in the engine, have to take everything out and start all over :(

One question, what does that metal tab in the middle of the injector do? I had to "homemake" one of those rubber cushions as seen there, I just want to make sure thats not like a manual pilot or anything....

LISTEN to that injector tick :) The motor sounds different than compared to the millenia S injectors. Not the ticking either, its hard to explain. Its running a bit rich just idleing around 13 or so. My millenias were dead on at 14.7 Im not gonna tweak the req_fuel either...

Plans are to get it down to the cities ASAP maybe tommorow or next weekend. Then 10 days back and forth to work and put her on the dyno. :)
Common, rev that up to 6k. lol, i wanna hear that beast!

With my weisco 10.2-1 pistions, should i change any injectors?

I would be the motor only has about 23 miles on it :) It needs a bit more breaking. I reved it up to about 6K in my exhaust post but that was still on the Mil S injectors.

You shouldn't have to change injectors as long as your NA, if your running boost and some kind of engine management like MS then you could certainly look into it.
beautiful.... i wish i could have that as my ring tone.... beautiful
hey look you have a broken dip stick too!

...pics are amazing!!
I love injector tick.
Yes, I think I bought it with a broken dipstick 6 years ago :)
sounds like it runs perfect buddy

i believe 75% mx-6/probe owners have the whole "broke oil dipstick mod" lol
that dull intake pipe bothers me.

if you need/want a polished one, lmk. i have a basket full of pipes em in the basement.

i have that mod too lol.

looks great man, get the thing broken in i want to see it on the dyno. And how much boost are you running?

I been meaning to get that thing finnished, but its not stainless so it wont match the other pipes. Ill probablly just paint it or something. Cant get a HKS SSQV flange in stainless..

And how much boost are you running?
7 psi until its broken in then I work my way up probably 15-17 psi max, I will run less maybe 12 for DD purposes to save the trans. I dont think I need 15 lbs of boost on the county roads :)
It looks great man. How much power do you think it's going to make on 12psi?

That's my plan as well. 12psi on a built motor should be more than enough power for spirited driving.
It should easily make over 300, probably the neighborhood of 350 on 12 psi.

I think I jinxed myself with this thread title. I have some negative camber on the DS front wheel only. I checked all the suspension and the obvious things, but nothing seemed wrong. Its back in the shop yet again getting an alignment sometime this week. :sigh:

Welcome to real injectors. I think at Myrtle 7 or 8, someone commented on how loud my HLAs were, I said it was the injectors. They put their hand on the front VC and were just astonished that the motor was so solid (you can feel HLA tick).

I'm not going to comment on anything else, but just FYI, I've never had a solid idle at anything but about a 13.5 to 13.8 idle AFR on pretty much any KL I've tuned.

Good luck with the injectors, hope you're running High Res code or MS2 by now. I'm not subscribing to this thread.

^whats the point in saying that?
