91 Mazda MX6 LX
I have resently switched the timing chain I took it all off and put it back together. Now i went by the book and Imsuppost to line it up by the letters Wich i did I started my car And it dosent sound right. Now there is also a punched hole beside the letter one Do i go by that hole? Or by the letters I duno what is wrong i hooked everything else right soo Im just a bit confused and that book is also fricken old. Now beofre i started my car i manually turned the crankshaft if its hitting anything Nothing at all so i though its good But Its not HELP !!! Does anyone have the same problem what do i go by The letters or by that punched hole mark

You're off a tooth. I'll post more tomorrow. You're supposed to line the #'s on the cam sprocket to a mark/line on the head, and same deal with the crank, xcept it's a dot for #1tdc instead of a #. They dont line up exactly paralell to the engine, it's canted a few degrees. I'll post more tomorrow after I've had some sleep :)

Thanks for your info It really helped me out alot it seemed that i was only of a tooth like u said LOl One fricken tooth haha But now it runs great . Thanks for the advie and for the picture.
