I was thinking about getting an underdrive pulley set, it seems like all of the sets come with pulleys for the alternator, A/C, and crank. I will be removing my A/C very soon, and the only one that seems to make sense is the crank pulley? the alternator pulley is pretty small, and seems lightweight enough, and when I think in those terms....the whole UDP system doesnt seem like much of a benefit?

Yeah, the Unorthodox is just the crank.

The difference comes in with the ratio between the crank and other pulleys. If you shrink the crank pulley, you lower the turn-ratio between it and the other pulleys (the alt. pulley is the one most concerned about.). Some kits shrink the alt. pulley, or shrink others too, so that the ratios stay somewhat close to stock.

With the March pulley set I had on my ford, I messed up and got the one that just shrank the crank pulley (but gave you two other pretty, black, stock sized pulleys.). My voltmeter read 14 at speed, but at night dropped to 12.5 with the lights and stereo on.

So, you really know the answer to your question. The set will just lessen the cons of the underdriving.
