unlock car- alarm goes off

1823 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Mx-6 v6
At first when I unlocked my car on the drivers side the alarm would go off, so I used the passengers side and it was fine. Now both sides set the alarm off when I unlock them. I have a 93' LS. I did a search on this and found somebody with similar problem but the thread kind of died off and didn't help me. I want to disable the alarm all together but I read in that post that it's tied into the cpu and you can't. Any ideas? Thanks- Andrew.

There is a small 2 wire connector near the hood latch, Unplug that and it will disable the alarm system :)

I have the same problem where I have to unlock the passenger door to not set the alarm off.

good info.

glad mine wasnt the only one arming but not dis-arming from the drivers side
i had the same problem, but mine was a 1991 mazda mx lx, the door panel on the passenger side was loose. it has...wel had two small plastic pieces that align on the actual door, they broke so whenever the door would close the panel would move a tiny bit towards the inside of the car, and when unlocking the driver door, the passenger would not unlock due to the panel restricting it. and the car thought someone was braking in.....but once the door panel was replaced no more, driver door lock works like a charm....hope this helped..although its the older model...
haha mine only does it when my car gets reaalllly hot inside the car =/ idk how this affects it but it does
