i just put in my walbro 255 pump. went in easily. get it out and run it for about 10 miles easy. then try to boost and the car just bogs out and almost stops. whats going wrong? other than that it runs fin

i know this is not in your sig, but do you have a fmu hooked up.

no FMU. maybe my FPR just can't handle it and is dumping it all into the engine. is this a possibility?

i dont think the fpr would do that, it sounded exactly like what mine did when i hooked up the fmu, fine when cruising but as soon as i started to boost it would cut, what sort of upgrade do you have on the ecu

my chip is pretty much just a boost cut eliminator.

its comparable to an Adam turbo chip. i bought it on Ebay, but it wasn't advertised as an adam turbo.

if you baught it on ebay it may also be a copy of zombies chip, his were primarely made for teh 90-92, but i think they should also work fine with the 88-89 models as well, try to pm him and get his suggestion, as for he is extremely knowledgeable on these cars and may be able to help to solve your mysterious boost cut.

i just went back and looked at 2Rusty's install how-to again. seems i neglected the plastic spacer from the old pump, i also did not put in the new O-ring. will re-install tomorrow and see what happens.
