I read in the owner's handbook that either 80w-90 or Dextron II can be used in the manual transaxle. I thought that was weird. The Hayes manual only says to use the 80w-90.

Any opinions on which to use? I am in the Boston area so temps swing from below zero to over 100.

I did a search, but I didn't see this particular issue discussed.

what kind of car do you have?

I use 75-90w, Royal Purple, it costs $7.99 a quart.
Sorry, figured they were all the same in this forum, but you are right, I should say if it is a GT or not. It is not. Just a DL with manual tranny.

i've always found Castrol VMX 80 an excellent fluid for GD manual tranny's - both on my non turbo and turbo mx's

there is better stuff - but this is very good for the $$ (about $35 aussie for 4 litres)
