i have a whining noise the is in sync with the engine everytime i rev up the engine. i have no idea what it is and i searched for an answer and couldnt find it, any help?

Check the accessory belts are OK, and are correctly tensioned.
If they look OK, try removing them, checking that all the pulleys rotate freely. Even try running the engine (very briefly) with the belts removed, to see if the whine stops, to help find out where the whine is coming from.

I agree with NickR, I recently had the bearing in my tensioner pulley go bad. The "whining" was fairly quiet in the passenger compartment, but very prominent under the hood.

I ignored it for a couple of weeks until I started smelling burnt rubber. The bearing in the pulley had frozen up completely and the belt was just being dragged across the frozen pulley.

It was $6 at Napa to replace the bearing. Pretty easy to do, too.

Yepp, it's a Bearing or tensioner along your timing belt somewhere. Cheap parts, not so cheap labour (not too too bad though), but definately get it fixed.
It can lead to much more dramatic and expresive repairs.
