It all started here: http://www.mx6.com/forums/showthread.php?&p=1072861
and it made me think, who actually wants gauge covers in a REAL format, not some bitmap. In vector, you don't have to photoshop. Just change what you want. Different font, different colors, background image(s,) no problem. If I were to print them out the might look pretty good. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R800 that uses 8 different inks. High quality print looks like a photograph or something you'd get at a photo finnishing store that you gave your digital pictures to.

Just to download the generic one(s,) no I wouldn't. I might put up a donation box for those.
For the customized ones, printed or not, I'll ask for some cash. I'll post a link to the for sale forum later. I doubt a fully customized face printed out shipped worldwide would cost more than a fill-up of premium.

I will be very interested if the indiglo thing falls flat on its face.
All you'd need to do is get some indiglow paint, picked up at the local arts and crafts store. If you don't want to paint it on yourself, I'm sure you could find someone to do it in the yellowpages. All they need to do is paint over my printing.

Here's just a sample of the tachometer. I can change the color of each individual line or object. If you don't like the stock font I have tons to pick from.

PS I just finished this part. I'll need a scan of a metric one if I'm gonna do km/h too.

Um is this just a slip on over the current one? How do the lights show through at night, and what do they look like in a car? Sorry for all the ?'s but I need to know.

Let's see. There are no lights behind the gauges, lights illuminate the face of the gauges from above. If you used the indiglow it should look just the same. I'm gonna research the indiglow paint right now.

I'l have to look into filling ink cartridges with uv ink. That would produce the most cost effective results. I'm sure I can figure something out. HP makes UV ink for their DesignJet 5000 series that cost over $5k!

Sweet thanks man I am interested in it now, what type of install is it, just putting these over the stock ones or does it replace them.

Take out your old ones and put in the new ones. If I were to do the indiglo/UV, I'd need to set up a bulk buy to cover equiptment costs, since I don't have any capital. I'd just need to check to see if the UV will work or if I need the indiglo. For the UV you might need special bulbs.

I have no idea of a price. I won't do it if the cost is over $60 shipped world wide, shooting for $20-$30 or below before shipping. Cheap prices is what I'm looking for.

I decided to have some fun with the tach. I hope this gives you an idea of some of the things I can do. I kept the stock font but next time it will have a different one.

Having 8 inks I'm going to try and add UV ink to the gloss optimizer. I don't know if I can print only where I want it or the whole thing.

I really just need a good scan, but if you'd rather send it to me I can scan it myself and I'll just recycle it and mail it back or to some one else. Just shoot me an email.

Um... I'm just making these up now. How am I going to have pictures of this installed for you?
