I Have a Ford Probe 2.5L

I have been having this problem for a while now when ever i get into my car my battery level is at M and after i drive for a bit it drops down to the A and most of the time to L. When it gets to L it dosen't keep on going ? Also when its raining out or snowing out and i run the heat to defrost the window have the head lights on and wipers going and when i press the brake is seems that there is no power left and it almost dieing on me the battery level take a death drop ?

Any idea ?

Maybe your alternator is getting weak.

Does the car ever not restart the next time?.. if so, I would suggest the alternator (or a slipping belt).

Definitely check the alternator or something in combination with a constant draw...maybe something is messing up and pulling a constant draw from your car killing the battery faster than it's being charged.

I'd agree with the battery as a possibility... but waiting on a response if it sometimes doesn't restart the next time or not.

No it has never not started for me

does it crank over slowly or hesitate? you really need to have the battery load tested as many will act fine until a load is placed on it. If the alternator was shot, the battery should just run down as it's not being charged. Unless of course if the alternator is undercharging the battery, however the battery stil should be undercharged and crank over slowly.:ewink:

A battery is a cheap fix.. half the time on cars I don't know much about, I do that first because it's only $35 or so from Walmart.
