i have a cel coming on...its the egr valve position sensor. I tested the valve, it seemed to work properly. Im going to clean it in a bit. But, the other thing is....while testing the egr (sucking through the vacuum hose) the idle will drop....good. Now, after the idle drops...it will come back up to normal and stay.....then, if i rev the motor....the idle will stick at 1k. Does anyone know what could cause this? vac leak somewhere? Or, is it the EGR itself?

*EDIT* When im on the throttle, driving down the road...the cel will go out. When i let up and the car bogs down...the light comes on.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'd be tempted to replace the egr valve position sensor before I tried diagnosing any additional or related problems.

EGR

Trace the vacuum lines back to the solenoid located near the top center of the firewall. Sometimes these can cause problems along with the v-lines. Chances are once you get the valve working freely, you'll be ok !
