Crazy question really; my rear view mirror has not stayed on consistently since i bought this car (1993 mx6) 2 yrs ago. I have tried every type of glue there is - it had recently stayed on for 6 months but just fell off again and took a small chunk of glass with it! I'm hoping this is not dangerous.

Any ideas on how to solve this crazy situation?

Go to your local AutoZone or the like and get a mirror repair kit. It will have the cleaner, glue and everything else you need to get that thing to stay up. I got one for my wife's van when the kids pulled it off and its still hanging in there.

Remember when you're using the repair kit, you first have to glue on the metal piece that the mirror clips into. Follow the instructions and clean the area before you apply anything. Make sure the area is smoothe and clean, then apply the glue and push th emetal piece into it. If possible, do it in a warm day if not the glue will have trouble hardening.
