Not really, trans was only used in 2 formats to my knowledge, 1st gen gt, and 1st gen probe with the 3.0. The 3.0 has a better gear set, but not much taller. 1st and 5th are the same ratio, and the final is a 3.85 vs the turbos 4.11, the other 3 gears are slightly different to the turbo set, so slightly taller overall, but not much. Overall the 3.0 gears are better imo, as give more even rpm drops between shifts.

 

I think 5th is geared perfectly if there was a 6th. It really needs a 6th gear.

I wish there was a compatible tranny we could swap in with LSD and a 6th gear.

 

I've always felt we have enough torque to shift all 5 up a bit, although that was always when 6 speeds were less common. Not sure how difficult it would be to adapt like a speed 3 trans to our cars. Adapter plate and cable shifter instead of linkage, but my speed 6 i feel isn't too far off, 5th gear 1g turbo vs 6th gear speed 6...
